Fabulous Father's Day

I think RJ had a good Father's day??? He got breakfast burritos in bed, 2 fixed watches & 2 new novels. Which to RJ, are all perfect gifts!! That's one of the things I LOVE about my hubby is he is a low-maintenance man.
Then in the afternoon, Coach Grandad (RJ's Dad) joined us for dinner. We had our favorite, FLANK STEAK, (Thanks again Ang for that recipe...now everyone thinks that I know how to cook...however, it's your recipe & RJ is the one who always prepares it in our house). Yes, RJ had to cook his own Father's Day dinner BUT I think he did it happily because he got to wear his new NY Yankees grilling apron that he got from Mom & Dad Jensen. He also knew that if he grilled his own flank steak, it would turn out much better than if I tried to do it. I did contribute though with white cheddar garlic mashed potatoes, corn on the cob & homemade rolls. We also had a brownies ala'mode with homemade fudge sauce on top. It was all DELISH!!

I think all the Muller's boys favorite part of the day was not the delicious dinner (gasp!!) but the dart gun war that they boys had with their Coach Grandad. It has become a tradition to break out the dart guns ANYTIME we are going to see Grandad or he is coming here.
My three boys spent a good 45 minutes preparing for their Grandad to arrive. They had walkie-talkies, a lookout upstairs & a battle plan. However, they still lost to Coach Grandad when he told them that if they shot him they wouldn't get the presents he had brought for each of them. The boys quickly put down their weapons and held out their hands for gifts from Grandad, when he pulled out of his bag a dart gun instead and shot all three boys...
Remember boys...never trust ANYONE when it comes to dart gun wars!! Not even Coach Grandad, or better yet, especially not Coach Grandad.
We finished the evening at Grandma & Grandpa Jensen's where we wished Grandpa Jensen a Happy Father's Day as well as enjoyed each others company AND delicious Sprinkles Cupcakes that Kevin & Marisa brought for everyone.

The older I get, the more I realize how truly blessed I am to be surrounded by FABULOUS Fathers & Grandfathers. First off, my Dad is such a wonderful man & has filled my life with learning & love. I am so grateful for the house that I grew up in and his lifetime of examples to me. I will never be able to express my true appreciation for this AMAZING man I get to call my Dad.
I am also so very grateful for my Father-in-Law, who I now get to call Dad as well. When RJ & I were dating...he scared me to death, standing tall & large in stature. But through the years, as I have come to know "Coach," I now know where my husband inherited all of his characteristics that I admire about him. He was raised by an AMAZING man!! Coach really is just a huge teddy bear now that I know & love him.
And then there is my husband, the father of my 4 beautiful boys. I Love You RJ!! I appreciate what a wonderful Dad you are to the boys. You are such a great example to each of them in all that you do!! They all love you so very much & so do I!! HAPPY FATHERS DAY. I know that each of the boys will inherit all of your great characteristics and be great Fathers themselves someday. I am one lucky girl to have all these men in my life.
