The Gila Valley Temple Open House

We had the opportunity to go down to Central, AZ and tour the new Gila Valley Temple before it gets dedicated in the end of May. This new temple is small but still beautiful!! My boys liked the chance to go inside and check it out. Their favorite part was the baptismal font. It's amazing to me that even though the temple is not yet dedicated and used for church purposes, you can still feel the spirit so strong while touring it.
Coincidentally, My oldest brother Layne & his family life a stone throw away from the new temple. So not only did we get to tour the temple but the boys got to have some much needed play time with their Jensen cousins while we were down there. They were so excited to see them!! The boys had a great time going to "Relay for Life," playing with the Jensens's 2 new baby piglets, having a sleep over, riding on the quad, & then going up to the mountain to play in the snow with their cousins. It was so cute, when we were leaving my nephew Bruce said to me "Aunt Alyssa, you should come down here every weekend. You could come down on Friday when school gets out and then go home on Saturday night." Oh how I wish we could!! We had such a wonderful visit with them.
The only this bad about the weekend was that our camera died as soon as we got down there. So...the only thing we had to take pictures on was my phone. Oh well :S thank goodness for cell phones.
