Hayes eating his popcorn by the handfuls as fast as he could shove it in his mouth!! Almost gave Grammy a heart attack, afraid he was going to choke
Daddy & Hayes'ers
About a month ago, my brother got our family tickets to the Coyotes game. We've never followed hockey much but hey, we are always willing to take free tickets to something. We went as a family, with Grammy & Grandpa and had a great time. The boys loved how fast paced it was, the horns that blow when the Coyotes scored & the fights!! The boys also loved the free Krispy Kreme donuts we got as we were leaving the game. I must say, that hockey in person, is much for interesting than on TV. So when my brother offered us tickets again for the last game of the season, we were excited to be able to go again!!
The last game of the season was April 9th & it was fan appreciation night at the stadium. The Coyotes had lots and lots of free give-aways. Everyone who came to the game, got a scratch ticket as they entered. Since we had 6 tickets...we got a handful of scratch tickets. After we sat down to watch the game, RJ went through those scratch tickets and out of the 6, he had 1 that said "Congratulations!! You have won a prize. Please claim your prize before 3 period in concourse???"
Thinking that it was just some sort of lame-o giveaway, (a bobble head or nightlight or something) we didn't think to much of it.
As the game went on, the kids were getting restless for the popcorn that we had promised them. So RJ decided to go claim his prize and pick up snacks on the way back. He was gone for a LONG time...felt like forever!! I sat there with the boys and Davis, our 4 year old bugging me every 2 minutes as to where Dad was and more importantly where his popcorn was?? Finally after about 20 minutes, Davis looked at me and said, "Mom where is Dad...I'm sooo hungry." as I went to answer him, Parker shouted out "Mom, Dad is on the Jumbo tron!!!" When I looked up, sure enough, there was RJ & Easton up on the jumbo tron. He got to pull a huge lever to find out what his prize was. He won 2 glass seats to the 1st Coyotes play off game. It was CRAZY!!
He was one of only 3 grand prize winners out of the 17,000+ people who attended that night.
So on April 14th, RJ & I got to go to the Coyotes 1st play-off game against the Detroit Redwings. The seats were 1st row behind the glass. The view AMAZING!! They were seats that we would NEVER be able to afford. We were so close that we could see the players missing teeth. We had a fabulous night. I am proud to say that our Coyotes won that first game 3-2. I think we are now full fledged hockey fans...who knew??
Our AMAZING front row seats. (I know this is a horrible picture of me!!)
